Awards & Recognition: Employer Recognition

2009 ONCC Employer Recognition Award
This award was developed to recognize an organization that has provided support and recognition of oncology certified nurses.

Criteria
 The criteria for award consideration are as follows; one or more of the following must be met, and documentation must be provided.

  1. A. Sustained support of the OCN®/CPON®/AOCN®/AOCNP®/AOCNS® role, as evidenced by the following examples:
    1. OCN®/CPON®/AOCN®/AOCNP®/AOCNS® credential is mentioned in advertisements and/or job descriptions when recruiting for oncology nurse positions (e.g., OCN®/CPON®/AOCN®/AOCNP®/AOCNS® is preferred, desirable, considered or required.)
    2. Financial support for the certification examination and preparation for the examination.
    3. Company-wide recognition of achievement of the OCN®/CPON®/AOCN®/AOCNP®/AOCNS®.
    4. Salary recognition upon attainment and renewal of the OCN®/CPON®/AOCN®/AOCNP®/AOCNS® credential.
    5. Paid time off for participation on ONCC Board or committees.
  2. Other measures of recognition, appreciation, encouragement and advancement of the OCN®/CPON®/AOCN®/AOCNP®/AOCNS® credential.

Award

  1. An award plaque will be presented to the award recipient at the annual ONCC recognition breakfast. ONCC will not be responsible for any expense incurred by the recipient associated with receiving the award.
  2. A press release announcing the award recipient will be sent to appropriate parties.
  3. The Employer Recognition Award recipient will be featured in an issue of ONCC Certification News.

Nomination Instructions – Please use the Quick Links at right to access nomination forms

  1. OCN®/CPON®/AOCN®/AOCNP®/AOCNS® may nominate an employer for the award. Current ONCC Board members and members of the ONCC Recognition Subcommittee are prohibited from nominating an employer during their term or for two years after. The employers of current ONCC Board members and Recognition Subcommittee members are not eligible to be nominated for the Employer Recognition Award during the Board or Subcommitte member’s term. An employer cannot be selected more than one time in a ten year period.
  2. The award nomination form, along with key supporting documentation (not to exceed 10 pages total), must be received in the ONCC office by December 1, 2008.
  3. Nominations may be made by an individual OCN®/CPON®/AOCN®/AOCNP®/AOCNS® or by groups of OCN®/CPON®/AOCN®/AOCNP/AOCNSs employed by the same company.
  4. Selection will be made by the ONCC Recognition Subcommittee.
