Certification Activities at the ONS Annual Congress


Recognition Breakfast for Oncology Certified Nurses

Certified nurses are invited to join ONCC at the Recognition Breakfast for Oncology Certified Nurses. The Breakfast will be held Friday, May 16, 2008 at the Marriott Hotel in Philadelphia, from 6:30-8:15am (doors will open at 6:20am). Nationally recognized motivational speaker Dave Balch, founder of The Patient/Partner Project will present “You Can Handle More Than You Think You Can: Your Amazing Ability to be Brave and Strong.” Balch will provide nurses with tools they can use to help themselves and others cope. ONCC will present its 2008 annual awards, including the OCN® of the Year, Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse of the Year, Employer Recognition Award, and the first Pearl Moore Certification Champion Award.

The ONCC Breakfast registration is full. This event is limited to 1000 certified nurses. Certified nurses who were not successful in reserving a ticket may show up at the event, and will be seated if space is available after ticketholders have been seated.

Relax at the ONCC Certification Oasis
Take a break from the hustle of the ONS Annual Congress and relax at the ONCC Certification Oasis. Located in the Grand Hall of the Pennsylvania Convention Center, near the ONS Congress Registration area, the Oasis will offer a limited number of chair massages and light refreshments for certified nurses, as well as a comfortable spot to relax during Congress activities. Non-certified nurses are encouraged to drop by to learn more about the benefits of certification. The Oasis will be open daily during most Congress registration hours.

The Oasis is supported by funding from Pearson VUE, ONCC’s testing partner and Lindi Skin.

Do you have questions about certification? Visit the ONCC Oasis in the Grand Hall of the Pennsylvania Convention Center, near the ONS Congress Registration area, to get the answers. ONCC staff will be available in the Oasis daily during most Congress registration hours.
