| International Test Sites for ONCC Certification
ONCC will offer limited testing outside the U.S. and Canada from November 1-30, 2010 for the OCN®, CPHON, CBCN, AOCNP®, and AOCNS® examinations. Locate a list of test sites.
Application Deadline Dates & Fees
Candidates who wish to test outside the U.S. or Canada must submit a complete application, including any required documentation and fees, by the test application dates. There is an additional $75 International Testing Fee for candidates who wish to test outside the U.S. or Canada.

Candidates may apply online or may apply by mail or fax. Note: the certification fee for applications submitted by mail or fax is $25 higher than the fee to apply online.

AOCNP® & AOCNS® Application Form
Application forms may be submitted by fax to 412-859-6168. Applications submitted by fax must include credit card information for payment.
Applications may be submitted by mail to the address listed on the form. Applications submitted by mail may include credit card information, or a check or money order payable to ONCC in U.S. dollars. Payment may not be made at the test site.
Confirmation of Eligibility to Test
Candidates should provide a personal email address. ONCC will send confirmation that the application has been received and the Authorization to Test via email. The Authorization to Test will contain instructions for scheduling a test appointment. Candidates will need the information on the Authorization to Test to schedule a test appointment.
Eligibility Criteria & Documentation
Eligibility Criteria for Initial OCN® Certification
- Current, active, unrestricted RN license at the time of application and examination, and
- A minimum of one year (12 months) experience as an RN within the three years (36 months) prior to application, and
- A minimum of 1,000 hours of adult oncology nursing practice within the two-and-one-half years (30 months) prior to application, and
- Completion of 10 contact hours of accredited continuing education in oncology nursing or an academic elective in oncology within the past three years. Acceptable providers/approvers of accredited nursing continuing education.
Eligibility Criteria for Initial CPHON® Certification
- Current, active, unrestricted RN license at the time of application and examination, and
- A minimum of one year (12 months) experience as an RN within the three years (36 months) prior to application, and
- A minimum of 1,000 hours of pediatric oncology or hematology nursing practice within the two-and-one-half years (30 months) prior to application.
- Completion of 10 contact hours of accredited continuing education in oncology nursing or an academic elective in oncology within the past three years. Acceptable providers/approvers of accredited nursing continuing education.
Eligibility Criteria for CBCN Certification
- Current, active, unrestricted RN license at the time of application and examination, and
- A minimum of one year (12 months) experience as an RN within the three years (36 months) prior to application, and
- A minimum of 1,000 hours of breast care nursing practice within the two-and-one-half years (30 months) prior to application, and
- Completion of 10 contact hours of accredited continuing education in breast care within the past three years. Acceptable providers/approvers of accredited nursing continuing education.
Eligibility Criteria for AOCNP® Certification
- Current, active, unrestricted RN license at the time of application and examination, and
- A master's or higher degree in nursing from an accredited institution,
- Successful completion of an accredited nurse practitioner program,
- A minimum of 500 hours of supervised clinical practice as an oncology nurse practitioner. These hours may be obtained within the nurse practitioner program or following graduation from the program.
Eligibility Criteria for AOCNS® Certification
- Current, active, unrestricted RN license at the time of application and examination, and
- A master's or higher degree in nursing from an accredited institution,
- A minimum of 500 hours of supervised clinical practice in an advanced practice role in oncology nursing. These hours may be obtained within the graduate educational program or following graduation from the program.
In addition, candidates who received their nursing education or nursing license outside of the United States, its territories, or Canada must have their education and licensure evaluated for U.S. equivalency by a foreign credential evaluation service. The license evaluation must accompany the application form, or the candidate will be considered ineligible and will not be permitted to take the test. This can be a lengthy process and should be started well before the application is submitted.

The certification test, as well as all communications from ONCC and/or Pearson VUE (ONCC’s testing agency) will be in English. No translation services will be provided.
