Ideas for Promoting Certification
Advocates have been using a variety of creative ideas for
promoting the benefits of oncology nursing certification to
their nursing colleagues. The following are a few examples
of ideas being used by Advocates to encourage certification.
- Distribute the brochure, Certification Makes a Difference
and the Oncology Nursing Certification Bulletin
to nurses who are not certified. Encourage them to talk
with you about the benefits of certification.
- Present a program about the benefits of certification at
a chapter meeting or at your institution.
- E-mail a study tip of the week to help motivate candidates
who are pursuing certification.
- Organize a review course for potential test candidates.
- Encourage nurses in your community to contact you about
certification.
- Place an announcement in your chapter newsletter
that reads, "Ask Me About Certification!" and
include your name, phone number, and e-mail address.
