ONCC’s testing partner, Prometric, has closed testing centers in the United States and Canada for 30 days, effective March 17.
This step is necessary to comply with federal guidance and to protect the health of individual test takers and staff at these centers. Test centers are expected to reopen April 16, but the specific date will depend on circumstances that are changing daily. As a result of the closure:
- Prometric will contact individuals with testing appointments scheduled during the closure and reschedule those appointments into a new date after the planned re-opening. Prometric will waive any rescheduling fees. Prometric will provide current information on COVID-19 response at www.prometric.com/corona-virus-update.
- ONCC will extend the 90-day Authorization to Test (ATT) for test candidates affected by test center closures. ONCC will provide candidates with a new ATT expiration date when there is more certainty about the date test centers will re-open. All test candidates will receive a full 90-day testing period.
- ONCC will continue to accept test applications. However, because test centers are currently closed, ONCC will wait to issue ATTs until there is greater certainty about the date test centers will re-open. All test candidates will receive a full 90-day testing window.
In addition, the shipment of ONCC certificates, wallet cards, and pins may be delayed due to the public health mandate. Nurses may use our online Credential Verification to provide proof of certification.
Thank you for your patience.
