COVID-19 Update for ONCC Certification Candidates

ONCC’s testing partner, Prometric, has begun the reopening of test sites in the US and Canada. A limited number of sites and test appointments will be available for testing of essential workers in areas permitted by local governments. ONCC test candidates may schedule an appointment pending availability at the desired test site. As test centers reopen, social distancing will be in place so candidates can test at a safe distance from each other. 

As a result, the number of testing appointments available at centers will be temporarily decreased. 

What does this mean for you?

  • If you have not yet scheduled your test appointment please do so before the expiration of your ATT.
  • Please review Prometric’s COVID-19 update and Test Taker FAQs for the latest information related to test center procedures. 
  • If you need to contact Prometric about your test appointment, please use the Contact Us link on the Prometric website. Please note that Prometric is experiencing a high volume of inquiries and their response may take longer than usual.

Please keep in mind:

Your preferred test center may open later than May 1 depending on government restrictions in the local area. 

November and December have the highest number of test candidates. Schedule your test earlier in the year if possible.

The COVID-19 public health crisis may continue to impact test center availability in the coming months. ONCC and Prometric will make every effort to communicate with you promptly. We appreciate your patience during these uncertain times.

In addition, the shipment of ONCC certificates, wallet cards, and pins may be delayed due to the public health mandate. Nurses may use our online Credential Verification to provide proof of certification.
