2024 OCN® Role Delineation Study

The OCN Role Delineation Study sign up deadline has passed. Please continue to watch your email for future opportunities.

ONCC will conduct a Role Delineation Study of oncology nursing practice. The role study will identify the knowledge and skills needed for competent practice at the generalist level in adult oncology nursing. The results of this study will be used to form future versions of the Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN®) Examination. We need OCNs who are actively practicing in adult oncology to participate in one of two volunteer opportunities.

Role Delineation Study Task Force
Eleven nurses will be selected for the Task Force. The Task Force will meet in-person at the ONCC office in Pittsburgh, April 2 – 3, 2024, and meet virtually on August 5. Participant's travel, hotel, and meal expenses for the in-person meeting will be arranged and paid by ONCC.

Telephone Interview Participants
Up to five nurses will be selected for telephone interviews with ONCC's role study vendor, PSI. The interviews will take approximately one hour.  There is no travel or additional meeting requirements for interview participants.
