The Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) has named Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University as the recipient of its 2025 Employer Recognition Award. Winship Cancer Institute is based in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) has named Diane Otte, MS, RN, OCN® as the 2025 Pearl Moore Certification Champion Award recipient. Otte is with the Mayo Clinic Health System – LaCrosse in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.    

The Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC®) has named Ashley Huneke, BSN, OCN®, BMTCN®, as the 2025 Blood and Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse of the Year. Huneke is a Registered Nurse at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, in Hershey, Pennsylvania. 

The Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC®) has named Marianne Kiernan, BSN, RN, CN-BN, CBCN® as the 2025 Certified Breast Care Nurse of the Year. Kiernan is Assistant Manager of Patient Care, Fortunato Breast Center at Mather Hospital in Port Jefferson, New York. 

The Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC®) has named Lorinda Coombs, PhD, MSN, FNP-BC, AOCNP® as the 2025 Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP®) of the Year. Coombs is Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center in Chapel Hill, NC.  

The Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC®) has named Bethany Cunningham, BSN, OCN®, ONN-CG, as the 2025 Oncology Certified Nurse of the Year. Cunningham is a Nurse Navigator at Brown University Health Cancer Institute at Miriam Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. 

If you are applying for an ONCC certification test or renewal in 2025, you will soon need to provide additional information during the application process. 

Beginning in late January 2025, you will need to provide the last four digits of your social security number. For privacy purposes, this information will not be stored in ONCC systems and will need to be entered each time you apply for certification. 

The Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) announces Katie Tomaszczuk, BSN, RN, CPHON®, BMTCN® as the 2024 Certified Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurse (CPHON®) of the Year. Tomaszczuk is a Pediatric Oncology Nurse IV at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. 

This award recognizes Tomaszczuk for her achievements in oncology nursing practice, nursing service, and promotion of certification. 

The Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) announces Maureen Collins Pelletier, BSN, RN, OCN® as the 2024 Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN®) of the Year. Pelletier, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, is Sr. Manager of Key Accounts at Foundation Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts.

Pelletier is being recognized for achievements in oncology nursing practice, nursing service, and promotion of certification. 

The Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) has named Joan Rhoa, BSN, RN, OCN®, CBCN® the 2024 Certified Breast Care Nurse (CBCN®) of the Year. Rhoa is Clinical Nurse IV in the Women’s Center at City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, California. 

Rhoa is being recognized for her achievements in breast care nursing practice, nursing service, and promotion of certification.
