Radiation Therapy Role Delineation Study

ONCC and ONS are conducting a Role Delineation Study of the oncology nurse's role in radiation therapy. The role study will identify the knowledge and skills needed for competent practice as a radiation therapy nurse in oncology. The results of this study will be used to form future versions of the ONS/ONCC Radiation Therapy Certificate Course.

We need nurses who are actively practicing in radiation oncology to participate in one of two volunteer opportunities.

Role Delineation Study Task Force
Eleven nurses will be selected for the Task Force. The Task Force will meet in-person at the ONCC office in Pittsburgh, May 22 and 23, 2023, and meet virtually on October 5. Participant's travel, hotel, and meal expenses for the in-person meeting will be arranged and paid by ONCC.

Telephone Interview Participants
Up to five nurses will be selected for telephone interviews with ONCC's role study vendor, PSI. The interviews will take approximately one hour.  There is no travel or additional meeting requirements for interview participants.
